Description:

Position Summary:

Designs complex engineering products, processes, or equipment, including specifications and assembly and manufacturing methods/sequence for company products and/or manufacturing and assembly equipment.


Responsibilities of Position:

1. Design blow and injection molded components of Tank Systems using CATIA V5 and NX CAD software packages extensively while utilizing Team Center/PLM for product data management.

2. Works independently to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding purpose and parameters.

3. Prepares and presents preliminary drawings, sketches or diagrams reflecting basic concept in order to obtain confirmation of approach and technique.

4. Ability to manage program events such that design objectives are met.

5. Ability to formulate and implement solutions to design problems.

6. Simplify and standardize current and new designs to maximize economic benefits.


Skill Requirements:

1. CATIA V5 / NX 7.5 2. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills or education in engineering analysis field.

3. Possesses proven written and oral communications skills and technical presentation skills.

4. Ability to plan and execute plan effectively.


Experience Requirements:

1. Experience designing blow and injection molding plastic components for fuel systems (specifically fuel tanks).

2. Five or more years of design experience.


Physical Requirements:

1. Regular and predictable attendance.

2. Ability to travel (including air travel and long automobile trips).


Working Conditions:

1. Occasionally lifts and/or carries up to 50 pounds.

2. Maneuvers in, around and under factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.

3. Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting and bending.

4. Much time is spent sitting and working on a computer.

5. Works within an automotive components manufacturing office and laboratory setting. Exposure to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Design.
